I have the wonderful opportunity of introducing you to several of these families, in my new book; Blossom's of my Life. Most of the families I have had the honor of working with to ensure their children with special needs were receiving the best education, I could possibly deliver. Families of whom I have been able to watch their children learn and develop academically, socially and emotionally over periods of 1-10 years. What an honor to be trusted with their children! Each child is introduced in their very own chapter in this book. Each chapter is written by a mother. It is my hope that each of their stories will open hearts and bring forth their dauntless, loving, unselfish and remarkable journeys. The meaning of my title: The definition of Blossom is: 1. a flower or cluster of flowers; 2. the condition or time of flowering. This amazed me as I realized the significance of the story I was about to write. You see, each of us will have a time of flowering. Some take a little longer than others, but, we each long to flower into a purposeful life. Regenerated came up a lot in my search. This word means rebirth. As a Christian, our rebirth is distinguished from our first birth when we were born physically. The new birth is a spiritual, holy birth that results in our being made alive spiritually. It simply means a new birth, a new beginning, a new order. Who am I? I am a teacher, one with a new heart, a true heart to care and love and nurture my special needs students.. I am the person who God is trusting to care for their angels. There are some who approach me and ask, “How do you do it? I don’t think I could have the patience.” My reply: “How can I not?” ![]() Had the delightful opportunity to read Wheels of Wisdom: Life Lessons for the Restless Spirit in which Tim and Debby Bishop share rich nuggets from one of their adventurous cross-country bicycle journeys. 10,000 miles of tread to the pavement is a lionhearted feat by any standard and worthy of pondering! Even though I have no personal interest in trekking across the country on a bicycle, it was thoroughly enjoyable to catch glimpses of their arduous journey vicariously. They take you along for the ride highlighting the ups and downs of they're Spirit-led expedition with valuable and inspiring lessons. I absolutely love that they took their journey together as a husband and wife “team” and as believers they kept their ears and eyes open to the treasures the Lord revealed along their path. 52 lessons make this unique, adventurous read perfect for some extra weekly devotional material. Every lesson is based on a distinct aspect of their experience highlighting a truth to be learned or some inspiration to be gleaned. One example found in lesson 8 “Fork in the Road” they share about a tough decision they had to navigate with limited information. But once they made a decision … “Making a decision always delivers comfort, because then we can rely on our faith, which we bring with us into every endeavor. It comes from deep within us. We don’t even need to pack it separately.” I think that little nugget is worth the price of admission. Most of us struggle at some level with making the “right” decision. But remembering making a decision is half the battle, and once it is made your faith can be relied upon to take you the rest of the way. This is a truth that will take you far. You can expect the investment you make into reading this book to bring you some rich dividends! Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book/Ebook/Product to review. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden” Matthew 5:14 We ALL live on a stage that influences the lives of others- so why not decide to use our stage to inspire? Our walk of faith is designed to be supernaturally contagious and today, this very hour, we can choose how we will live to inspire. It is astounding to think how with every Spirit-filled action of faith we have the opportunity to light the flame of another. A Spirit-filled life is an inspiring life and together we can set the world ablaze!! Live to inspire… To inspire kindness when the world around us is unkind! To inspire generosity when others grasp stingily to what they possess! To inspire grace when the world condemns! To inspire freedom when bondage feels like the only option! To inspire love when someone is behaving unlovely! To inspire gratitude when everyone else is grumbling! To inspire courage when those around you are weighed down with discouragement! To inspire faith when doubt and fear seize progress! To inspire honor when dishonor is dished out! To inspire value where others have devalued! To inspire dreams when others have mocked and diminished! To inspire dignity when someone has been robbed of their self-respect! To inspire perseverance when the odds seem insurmountable! To inspire forgiveness when someone has done the unforgivable! To inspire compassion when others would pass by without a second thought! To inspire mercy among the merciless! To inspire creativity in the ordinary and mundane! To inspire godliness in an ungodly environment! To inspire hope when confidence has dwindled to a the size of a pea! To inspire joyfulness in the midst of misery! To inspire… “Let your light so shine before men, that they will see you good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 |
