Waves of Fear
I have never been out at sea during a bad storm but I’ve seen some movies with good graphics. All I can say is “Yikes!” Massive waves threatening to topple over ships. Wind swishing and water gushing. The sights and sounds are enough to strike terror in the heart of the most experienced and courageous sea captains.
The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice;
The floods lift up their waves. Psalm 93:3
Sometimes the sights and sounds of looming circumstances, threatening to “sink our ship” can cause us to be overcome with fear. A bad medical report, a job loss/ or significant income loss, an unexpected tragedy, betrayal of a loved one, etc., all communicating the eminent danger of certain disaster and destruction.
The Lord on high is mightier
Than the noise of many waters,
Than the mighty waves of the sea. Psalm 93:4
A greater vision of God will help us to see the circumstances of life in a different perspective. Fusing His greatness with our circumstances = Victory!!
Meditate on Him NOT the problem!
Father, give me a greater vision of You! Your heart, Your power, Your wisdom, and Your grace. I choose to acknowledge that You are mightier than anything I face and by faith I receive Your might to work in my favor in my circumstances. In the name of the One who even the wind and the waves obey, Jesus Christ!
