Oops! I goofed! I miss counted. It has not been ten years it has only been eight since this ministry first began. LOL! Somehow eight equaled ten a few days ago when I sent out an email announcing our 10-year anniversary. Don’t ask me how. No joke, I must have counted it out ten times! Again and again, 2009 to 2017 makes ten?? (Note to self- use calculator NOT fingers) Don’t worry; someone else handles the finances for this ministry. Every day I give God praise that He is at the helm of this ship or else we would have most certainly gotten lost and run aground a long time ago. I must confess when I realized 2009 to 2017 does NOT equal ten I was relieved. It felt as though I had been given back two years! A mulligan. A do-over! They say hindsight is 20/20 vision; so, if I could get a do-over for the last two years what would it look like? Where would I focus more attention? Where would I invest more of my time, energy and prayers? 2020 is a little more than two years away. I say we live out that span of time with 20/20 vision like we have been given a do-over. Look over the last two years and ask yourself, “If I could go back and do it again what would I do differently?” Let’s aim at 2020 with 20/20 vision! Let’s enter the next decade having left this one with a “well done.” Maybe somebody reading this today is feeling like they need a mulligan. I want to declare over the next two-years an acceleration of “redeeming the time”! (Ephesians 5:16) Don’t waste another minute on grieving over the past. Put your focus and energy into preparing for a 2020 harvest! “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might” according to the strength and grace God provides! And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Romans 13:11-12 I sense the Spirit saying 2018 and 2019 are going to be years of “redeeming the time” for those who choose to make the most of the opportunity. 2020 will follow as a time of reaping the harvest you have sewn! A fresh wind of inspiration and hope is blowing, and as it does I am praying we all enter 2020 with 20/20 vision!
